Allan Milne, a Canadian artist of distinct style. He at once challenges the viewer with vibrant colour and bold images. Allan has developed his own personal style which is indeed colourful and visually stimulating. Allan tends to capture the bigger picture rather than go after the "unimportant" details.
Teaching as an art teacher at the high school level, Allan has had the opportunity to use many different mediums but prefers acrylics, and soapstone. In his paintings, Allan uses larger blocks of colour capturing the essence and boldness of the subject rather than the detailed expression. In his soapstone sculpture, Allan patiently carves each piece bringing out the bold line and pleasure of real touch in each unique piece of stone.
Since starting to sell his artwork in 2006, Allan has had much success having sold out his first group showing at the Ottewell arts barn in Sherwood Park. Allan's style continues to evolve but has had much success with his bolder, chunkier paintings and sculptures. His art is reflective of both his philosophy of life and personality as he tries to always look at the bigger picture.
